Winter testing in the Range Rover Evoque - Introduction

23 February 2011
Even for Arjeplog in February it's a little bit chilly.

Usually the tiny village in the north of Sweden averages -11 degrees C, but today the mercury has descended to –19 C.

Each winter Arjeplog is inundated by dozens of car manufacturers and hundreds of engineers. They bring their cars to test them out in extreme conditions.

We are nice and warm, though, sitting in a Range Rover Evoque as principal engineer Karl Richards hurls his car around the middle of a frozen lake.

Richards is determined to show us the stylish Evoque isn't all about looks, and he's doing a very good job indeed.

Check out our video of the Evoque in winter testing.
