For It's hard to resist the allure of an open-top Aston, especially one so beautiful. The fabric roof stows and rises at the touch of a button and does a great job of sealing out the rest of the world.
Against There is just too much flex through the DB9 Volante's body for it to be anything other than a cruiser, which is a shame given the superb engine. A brittle ride and heavy steering queer the pitch.

The V12 engine is at the heart of the car's appeal, pumping out 450bhp and with instant grunt from low revs. Inside, the Volante has a hand-crafted feel that is entirely in keeping with an Aston, but it's not as well equipped as it should be.
Like the DB9 coupe, where the convertible Volante falls down is on bumpy roads, where the ride is jarring on anything but the smoothest surfaces and shivers are sent through the body.
We're also not fans of the overly heavy steering that makes parking a pain, as well as marring the overall driving experience. With running considerable running expenses, there are more cost-effective ways to get some supercar wind in your hair.
