One of the worst cars ever made. In the first five weeks of ownership it spent four weeks in the workshop while several serious problems were fixed under warranty.
Drives like a truck, except most trucks have better seats, better visibility and a more composed ride.
The handling is good on smooth roads but deteriorates alarmingly over anything bumpy.
The steering is laughably bad - it shudders horribly over bumps, and is jerky at parking speeds.
The car was delivered with bad cosmetic damage to the dashboard and leather trim, which the dealer initially refused to remedy due to difficulty in taking the car apart.
The dealer was generally quite sympathetic, although it didn't make me feel better when they told me mine was one of the good cars because they hardly had to take it apart at all, whereas some of them were apart "four or five times" before they could be delivered.
For the money, 10 Mondeos would be a better way to sample Ford's product.
A truly amateur effort.
Probably the best all round 2 seater sports…
