For Entry-level Superb is keenly priced and you get a lot of kit and space for your money. It has a band D VED rating and insurance costs are reasonable at Group 15.

Against It's a big car - and the 1.4 is not a big engine. It is, therefore, a bit pedestrian.

This model displays all the virtues of the Superb range offering plenty of space, practicality and equipment. It’s keenly priced and cheap to run, but the 1.4-litre engine may not be strong enough for everyone.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

Skoda’s Superb serves up a super-size portion of practicality and safety.

Entry-level S trim provides all a family could reasonably ask for, while SE, SE Plus, Elegance and Laurin & Klement trims provide yet further equipment.

Running costs for most versions should be favourable, because fuel economy and CO2 figures are competitive, especially for the 1.6-litre diesel models. The Greenline II model unquestionably makes the most sense for company car drivers.

While the 3.6 V6 4x4 is fun to drive, it’s very expensive, its running costs are high and it isn’t going to be in great demand second-hand. That makes it something of a rarity, for these days Skoda builds cars that are desirable to both new and used buyers, and the Superb proves no exception.
