My yr.2000 110TDISE owned from new with now 144K in kingfisher blue with stainless rails looks better that most 01-05. Really is flatline depreciation although cost me £22K but absolutely super car returning +50MPG. The key to cost effective ownership is to get to know you local senior audi tech who does homers ! after the standard 60K warrenty sevicve with the dealer !! ~Still on the original exhust and clutch - as new. What superb quality.
This is the best car I have ever owned. Extremly reliable and never had a problem. Driven 80K in 4 years and only changed tyres. Very comfortable loads of room and still feels and looks good.I am sure this car will do another 200K at least with no problem.Crusing is only 2.700 rpm! Looking at Q5 3.0 TDI to replace it next year. I am now a AUDIHOLIC (ex BMW). What recession!!!!
Apart from front suspension which costs more than the diesel every year, it's a good reliable car.
Suspension bits have required at every MoT in the five years I've owned my 1997 Avant. Expensive!
Bought at two years old with 89,000 miles on the clock; have now done another 60,000, very nearly faultless and tremendously economical as well.
Have now replaced it with a new BMW 320d and it find that it is slightly better in some areas, but poorer in others. Better ride and handling and slightly faster, but poorer presentation of information on the dashboard and other interior equipment.
I have just had the A4 valeted, and it has come up like new, the quality of the materials used are obvious.
