Pro engine, performance, size, looks
Cons Service cost (BMW in general), folding rear seats is an option - annoying, no spare wheel
Fantastic car, does wheel spins at 80mph in the rain, goes straight to 155mph limit and never drops below 36 mpg superb driving dynamics, forget a 530d, get a 535d. Ditching the runflats and replacing with proper tyres is a must.
I own this 530i and i love it, the style never die and the proformance you can't beat, people talk about audi's and merc's but this is something else, go for it and never look back.
I have had my new 550i SE for 4 weeks now and all I can say is that this can has exceeded all my expectations.
I can fault nothing at all with it, the ride is firm but never harsh, the steering precise and full of feel and simply enormous power from the 4.8 litre v8.
Fantastic
This is the first car I have ever owned (in 30 years' motoring) where I actually like it more every time I get behind the wheel. Normally, the initial pleasure of a new car wears off as little niggles become apparent, but this 5 series confounds expectations by revealing additional delights as I become more familiar with it. Now 8,000 miles since new and I love it more than ever. I have no hesitation in recommending this car to anyone wanting good looks, performance, refinement, image, economy and great quality. What more could anyone want?
