    My car

I bought my BMW 535d M Sport (07-09) 4dr from an independent dealer in July 2010 for less than £22k. It was a very good price and there was almost a competition to buy this car. At the time of buying, it was about 3 years old and done about 36k miles. Mine is what they call an ‘uplift model’. It has many useful options such as head-up display, ipod connectivity, built in cradle for iphone (connected via Bluetooth), SOS phone call, iDrive system, folding rear seats, premium sounds system, 6 CD changer, automatic climate control. This is undoubtedly the best car I have driven. It is way better than my old Merc C class. The most impressive fact about this car is not the toys you get with it, but the quality of drive. It is very fast and you never fill the size of it. What is also very impressive is the stability and speed from 70 to 100 mph. You could easily drive near 100mph without feeling it at all. You really have to check the speed dial to avoid the law catching up with you! There are plenty of things inside to keep you motivated for long drive! You can go through your ipod playlist or your contact list in your iPhone using the iDrive dial. Everything comes in the screen very clearly. The head-up display is very useful (it projects your speed, cruise control speed, navigation information) and I won’t probably drive a car without it. You can program climate control/change, display options and many other options via the iDrive system. Overall, a great value for money.

    My car

I have had 6 BMWs, including recent series7 model. I bought a 3 year old 535d Sports saloon mid last year with heated ventilated/comfort seats and a stack of other extras. A fully loaded spec. Nice to have these extras. Driving the car is an absolute delight. It has fantastic acceleration from startoff with no turbo lag, due to its twin turbo. I dive approx 800 miles a week, and I average c 38-39 mpg at 'fast' motorway speeds. I have never had less than 27/28mpg around town useage; again, not dawdling around! I have 19" upgraded alloys; a bit hard of a hard drive and expensive to renew. Servicing is not cheap, but shop around for value servicing. This car has been just excellent all round, and it has enough power and torque to leave just about anything! The difference between this and the smaller power models is really apparent. All I can say is,.....if you're looking for a good Series5, get a 535d!

    My car

Fantastic smooth engine and auto gearbox. Ride let down by the low profile run flat 18" tyres - but they do set off the look perfectly, any other wheel/tyre combination would not have such a perfect image.I am not comfortable about the lack of spare wheel or jack. Interior not as good as the previous E34 - it feels like cost cutting has bit a little too deep.Air con doesn't seem as powerfull as previous model.Good fuel consumption for a 3 litre 6 cylinder petrol - daily commute in traffic 28mpg, on long run high 30's.
