After my brilliant 3.0CRD Touring, traded for a Srt Design saloon, with a startech chip, what a car, in black with 20" alloys it looks mean and after 3 yrs still turns heads when you drive alond road, had for 3 yrs and no issues, average with chip on mpg if you drive carefully was a staggering 45mpg, however, when you uses all the horses it drops to about 34mpg but you are showing up much more expensive german saloons in power and presence.
Dealer Horsham Car Centre are brilliant great service from sales and service, really friendly and helpful.
The only downside they have stopped making it, and await the new model seen in USA. Only concern they have dropped Merc engine from press releases seen, no launch date in UK yet but await with interest.
Well done Chrysler
All I can say no matter what ‘Nay-Sayers ‘have written is that this car is ‘BRILLIANT AND COOL’! I’d like to remind us that our reviews are our personal perceptions.....and perception varies. Most experts do not share the same view about the same subject. I can understand Ginette Harper’s review. That was her unfortunate ‘experience’ and I do sympathize with her. The dealers (Kings Chrysler, Gloucester) I bought from were excellent and not pushy. As for me, I bought the car with 3,600 miles on the clock in May 2010 and as at today (30th Sep 2010), 4 months on; I have done 12,000 miles with no single issue! Initially, I was sceptical about purchasing the car after reading reviews (what car, honest john, top gear e.t.c) and realised all these reviewers grudgingly gave the car ‘ 3 stars’. I contemplated BMW 320d (too common), I contemplated Audi A4 (too expensive and does not live to the hype). One thing I can guarantee is that this car is rear on the road (probably 1 per 200 miles) and it has a lot of presence.. I enjoy the attention and the rarity. Though I must say my car has been ‘speced up’; 20” alloy wheels and 275/45 tyres. They look amazing! Fuel economy for its engine size and overall weight is excellent. I regularly get 35 -37mpg with cruise control on motorways. The equipment level is unbeatable and I commend Chrysler. My LUX pack comes with virtually everything. In summary, after 12,000 mile of driving in comfort, the car is worth it! Period!
Mine is a de-restricted 5.7 Touring with all the toys. Before coming to the UK, I owned a number of Hemi's in Canada and the US so I know about American cars. When we moved to the UK from Maryland, we brought our Mercury Sable wagon with us and recently decided that old Betsy ought to be retired. I happen to need a big station wagon and, I like to enjoy my driving although I only do about 5,000 miles per year. I looked at all makes and decided on this one, 9 months old, 11,000 miles on the clock, for less than HALF what the original owner paid. Which leads me to my selling point: BUY USED!!! GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!!! Fabulous car with Ferarri performance, and yeah, it sure does turn heads.
A good car for the price. If you want a large, statement like car, then a 300C could well be the car for you. I have had mine for a year via a leasing company in Black and with 22" wheels - 265/35/22's do the job well. 20 inch don't fill those arches. The wheels, although a bit heavier, did not affect the excellent performance of the Mercedes sourced engine, chasis and gearbox. Kick down is achieved if you bury your foot, the gear box reluctant to respond to faint pushes of the accelerator. Mid range is excellent - this car really flies along and breaking the speed limit is all too easy. Stopping is good from the big brakes. Cornering - well this car is a US car and not a UK bred car, so go in too fast and expect a lot of body roll on the standard 18" wheels. My 22's minimised that considerably. If concerned go the SRT design model - on 20" wheels but lowered and on the SRT suspension. Remember msot American's drive on straight roads, no roundabouts and few corners from state to state! I enjoyed this car. It served me and my brood well but time to move on. Don't buy new - they fall through the floor but a fabulous second hand buy. Go for a model with the 30GB music drive and newer models have the dark leather, anthracite. Mine was grey and a bit dull. Lastly the Bentley Grille turns this car into a real head turner and not expensive to have fitted. eBay sell them.
I've had 6 VWs now including this one and it is a mixed bag. In no particular order the economy is poor despite the FSI badging and in town never…
Why is there so much whining about the rear sets? It's small - it's called a "mini" (hint). It didn't get any smaller after you bought it, so deal…
