    My car

    I bought what I call The Bing 3 years ago trouble free. It has now done 74,000 miles as I am heavy on mileage it has developed an autonator problem the cost is £333 for the autonator but over all its still a good car that has been problem free until now. I use it to tow a caravan all over England it is better than a Swiss Army knife. Has any one out there had any electrical problems such as this ?

    My car

    I owned a 53 plate from new and have just traded it in for a new Berlingo Multispace 1.6 HDi 90 VTR I had nearly 5 years, (68500 miles) trouble free, economic but enjoyable motoring. I am pleased to report that the new Berlingo shows signs of being even better although it is more expensive. I was a Rover 825 SLD fan for many years, did not like the 75 and chose the Berlingo 2.0L HDi instead. I must say that my old Berlingo was the best vehicle that I have ever owned in 45 years driving and I feel guilty for deserting her. I hope that I will be able to report as favourably in 5 years time on the current one!

    My car

    I have owned this car from new. I have had absolutely no problem with it at all. In fact i would go so far as to say it is one of the best and most reliable cars i have driven.

    My car

    So long as you remember you've bought a budget vehicle you won't be disapointed. The 1.6Hdi engine is a peach - 60mpg easy driving, 50mpg normal, 40mpg loaded to the roof & pulling a loaded trailer. About 500 miles to the tankful. Excellent, upright driving position that takes a couple of days to get used to then you wonder why all cars don't have it!. Interior quality is reasonable but has little niggles - the steering wheel wasn't aligned from new, the glove box door fits poorly and the passenger door leaked forming a puddle in the front footwell (plastic rain barrier came away behind the door card) The achilles heel of these cars seems to be the gearbox - I've heard of a few bad ones. Mine went into the garage on it's second day from new - I could only get 2nd and 5th, with less than 300 miles on the clock. A new gearbox later and it's still the worst I have ever driven - long throw, notchy, baulks if you try and rush it and can miss gears in traffic. However - I still think it's great - it has a character of it's own and rides better that nearly anything I've had. Practical 'till the cows come home and has a larger boot (with the seats down) than a Volvo V70 or a LWB landrover. Buy one if you need the space and like a car to have a personality. Don't buy one if you are into Quality motoring. Me - I'd have another, but the discount would have to be large! By the way if you don't get £2500 off list price then the dealer is being too hard, keep trying!
