    My car

We've had our 2.0 Hdi Desire Berlingo for 3 and a half years now (from new) and consistently been very impressed with it. Considering how much these cars are to put on the road new (well under 10k for the top diesel engine in desire spec) it's nothing less than a bargain!

The only thing that's ever gone wrong with our car since new is the CD player and this was replaced under warranty straight away. We've covered 46,000 miles now and am regularly getting 46-47mpg on a varied run (some motorway some heavy traffic) so thats good too. Servicing costs at main dealers are expensive so I've started to use a local independent for that.

The car is easy to live with and extremely practical, sure it has some limitations as it's really a van with windows and extra seats but taking that into account it's surprisingly civilised to drive and live with. The Hdi engine is very smooth and had a good blend of power/economy and is utterly reliable. The hardest thing once you've owned one of these cars is knowing what to replace it with when you need to. Perhaps they will bring out a new Berlingo in time?

    My car

This car is total rubbish, I wouldn't recommend this car to anybody - I have had nothing but problems from the start.

At the first service it had to have the sliding doors realigned and an oil leak fixed. The car went in a further five times to have the doors done. On the second service, the head gasket failed - it had only done 25,000 miles.

The quality of the car is rubbish - the glove box broke within a few months of having this car and on the back doors half of the plastic trim came off in my hands.

I would never own one of these again and I would not recommend it to anyone.

    My car

This was my wifes car, and i loved it. It done everything we required off it. It took the kids to school, it would do a run to the dump, it was so versitile, it was an amazing little car. We had the 2.0 Hdi and it went really well.

The downside, if i had to pick fault i would say the seats felt like they would give way under my weight over time, 18 stone. But on saying that 2 years and 25,000 mile they never did. But the interior was built to a cost but nothing ever broke. Highly recomended, wish we never ever sold it for a new shape astra which has given us nothing but trouble from new. Would buy another tomorrow.

    My car

My Father brought his 2002 Berlingo soon after opening our own business the Berlingo was good value and after 5 years has proved a good workhorse, it is hard to imagine any other car being as usful. It can do a trip to cash and carry fully laden, then come home to transport the whole family out for the day. Citroen certainly done their research and have got a car worth its weight in gold. The Dealer in Chippenham has been so good and a real asset to Citroen that in total we have purchased four cars since Sep 2002 and will be looking at replacing our faithful old berlingo this year.
