    My car

Firstly, please apologize for my English writing. I owned a Citroen Berlingo in 2002 and in Malaysia, this car were rarely owned and driven . However, I bought because of practicality , space and reliability after read it What Car , and was proven right and very please with its performance. Since 2002, Citroen Berlingo never failed to perform and very tough and reliable car with very low maintenance and parts compare with my Toyota.

Spare parts were easy to get and quite low price and lasting longer if compared with any Japanese cars. Fuel consumption is also excellent, I managed to get with a full tank of 55 liters about 650 to 700 kilometers driving in town and please with this car.

Engine was proven very reliable and very tough, not ever a single breakdown so far except regularly maintenance and changing wear and tear parts.Unfortunately, Malaysia Citroen has stopped bringing this excellent car for no reason at all.

    My car

I bought it new in the first week of 53 reg and over 5 years it's been brilliant. At the time Citroen were rebating the VAT but I still haggled a bit more off and got it for just over £10k to include metallic paint, aircon, CD player and 3 years servicing. Posh it ain't but for a growing family the space, practicality and reliability is unbeatable at the price. I once took 5 kids (not all mine) plus all our luggage for a week's holiday in Wales and it just sailed up those Welsh hills. Very easy on the juice and only one minor fault - the wipers shuddered across the windscreen and it took the dealer about three goes to correct it. Not slow either with the 2 litre Hdi (pity they've dropped it) and very comfortable for a tall driver who used to have back probelms, but none since driving this car. I've had all the leg-pulling about a biscuit box with windows and postman Pat, but it's been worth it. Although I could now afford something more up-market, I just don't see anything matching the value for money. Had a look at the new Berlingo but I think they've rather overdone it.

    My car

I have had a 1.9D from new. We bought it 2002, as it was the only new car we could afford with three proper seat belts for kids in the back at that time and have never regretted it.

It's very, very practical all the way through and when the kids were small, we could put all their bikes in the boot.

Driving it is very relaxing and once you get used to the engine, it can be quite nippy in town - but a boy racer it will never be.

We get 40-50 mpg depending on the ciircumstances (on a trip to the bottom of Cornwall we only used half a tank).

We love its great driving position, it's very comfortable to drive and offers superb space for the money.

However, you're never going to have street cred, and you'll never use the third lane of the motorway unless it's empty, windy or a slow day.

    I would have another one.

    My car

Fabulous amount of space, versatile interior, useful sliding doors but all these positives are entirely overshadowed by the woefully underpowered engine which gives barely enough power to overtake a slow moving tractor and drinks diesel only marginally slower than I can fill up the tank. I even took it back to Citroen to have it checked over but they confirmed that the engine was justas it was meant to be. So now I'm looking for my next car!!
