After 13,000 miles of trouble-free motoring in my C3 1.4 HDi Exclusive, a problem occurred with the gear box, making gear selection very stiff with plenty of crunching noises. My Citroen dealer has now had the car for six weeks, with still no sign of me getting it back.
Citroen UK has been completely useless in helping with this problem, and my dealer laughs at me when I phone him up. If I do get it back, I will get rid of it and certainly won't look at another citroen.
This car felt very cheap, and I won't be buying one - it was rubbish.
This automatic C3 is a nippy car to drive as long as you do not 'put your foot down' to accelerate. If you do there is slight pause before contact is made. This does not happen if you change down at speed.
visability is not good when you wish to make a right-hand turn with a passenger in the front seat. There is a lack of vision to the left.
The car is bouncy at low speeds, but smoother when traveling. With hindsight I would not buy this car again.
I have been the proud owner of a Citroen C3 1.6 VTR for around two weeks now and I can honestly say its the best car I have bought. Its a real eye-catcher and the drive and handling of this little baby is outstanding. I was a little dubious at going to a garage and purchasing a new C3 as I always in the past have been overpowered by the salesman patter and end up leaving empty handed. I ended up approching Citroen in Abingdon Oxfordshire and was pleasently surprised at their professional attitude. I thoughly recommend the Citroen VTR its a real gem.
