    My car

I expected to hate this car and only drove it because of my wife's influence. It proved to be very good.

It has safe, secure handling, decent performance from the 1.9 JTD engine, bags of room and is reasonably finished.

I was converted and we are currently in the process of buying one.

    My car

I bought this car new in November 2004, not having driven one as I purchased the car from an internet dealer. What a marvellous surprise I got after taking delivery.

Not only was I impressed with the deal I got on the vehicle but, what a tremendous all round tool it is.

I made sure that the car was run in properly so the first 1200 miles were slow, when I then tried a little overtaking it was slightly disappointing but after around 3500 miles, the Doblo started to pick up and is now perfectly adequate (on par with 1.4i petrol hatchback car).

The handling is simply outstanding for this type of car and it all seems very well screwed together - no rattles or such.

The economy is very good - can't get below 45.7mpg according to trip comp even after a motorway blast. The amount of equipment you get is superb, and the space inside is enormous. Overall I love this Doblo and can recommend it.

    My car

Extremely comfortable to drive - 500 miles in one day left me fresh.

The heater could be improved - it takes a while to warm up. The air-conditioning is good.

The visibility is excellent. The seats are very comfortable - I'm 6'2" in height and have no problems. The gear lever in the dashboard is very easy to use. The capacious boot has a low sill and is extremely useful to use - as a seating area for picnics or to change footwear or to load.

It's quiet to drive and the engine is very accomodating - I have embarassed several other drivers on hills.

It's surprisingly good on corners, possibly due to its hard suspension. You do feel the bumps, however, but it's much better to drive than my previous Seat Vario.

The high seating position makes for extremely easy entry and exit. It feels a safe car. The rear sliding doors are extremely practical.

Passengers like the rear seats very much, together with the view from them.

I had a problem with brake vibration after 3000 miles - the discs needed to be replaced three times every 3000 miles or so.

The problem has been traced to rear drums and I am assured the problem has been cured - another 2000 miles to go to see if this is so.

    My car

Incredibly practical, masses of room for all five passengers and an immense amount of space in the rear. Seats are incredibly comfortable as is the driving position. Have had the vehicle for two years and have covered 40,000 miles.

Have only had to replace the front tyres. The car has not missed a beat and the 1.9 JTD engine is a dream and I am averaging 50+ miles to the gallon. Don't know if it is the alloys but the tyres need more frequent checking and topping up than my Seat Alhambra.

I may have been extremely lucky but the local agents have been superb for servicing.
