    My car

I've owned my 52 plate JTD 115 active for 4 and a bit years. Was previouly owned by a hire company, and needed a new turbo fairly soon after buying it. Also a couple of airbag problems. These were overcome and i put most of the problems down to very poor fiat dealer service and not the car itself, it took a lot of persuasion to make them fix the faults. With the exception of a snapped front spring (a common fault recalled by fiat apparently) the car has been excellent. The engine goes like a rocket 45-50mpg even with a heavy right foot, and I understand that if it is chipped it goes even better. Having done 60000 miles in it it has been great. For what these cost you really can live with the bits of trim that rattle and drop off, and the high servicing costs, but shop around, fiat approved servicing dealers (none franchised) proved to be much cheaper and did not affect the warranty.

For what these cost they are very good, you can get a 5 yr old one with average mileage and fsh for about 2500, that has to be good value!

    My car

i bought this car after 4 years with a nissan 200sx,so i thought i would get a nice cheap to run diesel. i wanted something 3 doors, medium size, good looking, a bit different, and diesel. my black 3 door with spoiler & 17 each alloys looks the part and fitted the bill. Also was far cheaper than an equivelant vw etc. the badge did put me off but i like to be different. since buying i have found all 3 dealers i have dealt with poor with the service. i have done 15k in 6 months (total 25k) in my july 05 car. at first i loved it: style, performance and it felt suprisingly well built. no serious problems but now there are rattles & i use the centre arm rest for bits of plastic that fall off. the steering, ride and brakes are rubbish and its noisy at speed. some plastics are poor quality and scratch too easily and the seats mark easily too. what do i like??? decent economy, good performance and i gotta remember that i got a car with loads of kit for a fraction of that of its rivals. the stereo is good (although squeels when off for a minute or so). oh also the 3rd year dealer warrenty aint worth the paper its written on. oh and add to that when people ask me what car i drive i have to say a fiat. i am liking the car less and less as time goes by as once the novolty of the extra kit and almost sexy looks wears off you a left with a pretty average car. but its practical, realiable and does what it says on the tin. yawn!

    My car

Purchased this poor excuse for a car in 2003 on 02 plate, within first month engine management light displaying stop engine, returned to dealers for diagnostic check no fault found.Since then numerous warning lights for bulbs air bag failures and engine faults. All just computer faults until last month when airbag warning again and a new one parking sensor failure, returned to dealer for a another check up and another £70 to find passenger airbag unit under seat needs replacing £130 AND PARKING SENSOR ALSO needs replacing £300.This is the straw that broke my back as well as too many tyres to mention.Getting rid in the new year never to touch a Fix It Again Tomorrow heap of scrap again!Forgot to mention air con not working either.
