After 3 consecutive Seat Alhambras it was time for a change - saw the What Car Review which encouraged me to test drive it.
The interior was bright, modern and cheerful after the dull interior of the Seat. There is a feeling of spaciousness. Love the 1.9 diesel - it drives extremely well and is very quiet - friends are surprised that it is a diesel it is so quiet.
Bought it second hand and got a very good discount from the dealer at the end of the month. It's not quite as economical or as fast as the Seat but I love the drive and the Italian quirks!
I might try an Elegenza next as I miss the cruise control and proximity sensors in the bumpers. It was 6 months old with 6,000 miles on the clock when I bought it in January. Just notched up 20,000 faultless miles and I am really impressed with it.
I'm not convinced by all these comments in the What Car? review about lack of electric rear doors. For the money it is very well kitted out - but drive a hard bargain with the dealer. It's a great motorway and long distance family car - my 3 children love it - as does the cubs' football team!
