This car has been in the family since 2002, first mine, now my girlfriends. She loves it. 56k and no major problems. Brake discs dont tend to last very long though and the rocker cover gasket only gets about 8k and thats done but nothing to worry about. Overall showing its age a little but still cheap to run and to service (do the lot myself for £30 now the warranty is up). Good strong proven, but elderly Endura-E engine. A tad noisy when pushed. Comfy inside. Plastics are strong and well put together. Cabin and boot space are good for a small car. My only concern is rust - it is a Ford afterall, did have small problem with it behind door seals when car was only 3 years old - but i sorted that - for now. Its still miles better lookig than the newer models. This one will be run into the ground. Overall a very good buy.
I have owned a 1.4 Zetec 3 door from new Nov 99. My 2 children learned to drive in it and have driven it continually over the years. Its just been to Alicante (Spain) and back and it never missed a beat. Luckily its got Aircon which was put on by mistake by the dealer, what a bonus!! ( its done 77000 ). I've just given it to my daughter whos recently finished Uni and I'm bying a new one.I've had some good motors over the years including a fabulous Renault 9 which I kept for 13 years but this Fiestas the Daddy. Its called Freddie and has cost me a Battery,An Exhaust, a couple of sets of tyres and a regulator in all those years. WE LOVE IT
I have owned this since September 07, looks great, handels well but take care in the wet but that applies to all cars and bikes. Fitted with alloys as standard, custom air filter to help it run smoother. Cost has been quite high as it had a new engine fitted but other than that its a great car. Insurance is good, well for a 23 year old with 4 years NCD is reasonable. Not much room in the rear but its not a family car.
I have owned my 2001 (Y) Fiesta 1.25 16v Freestyle for just over a year now. It is a great little car, with a zippy engine and great handling. It has all the extras i was used to in other cars i've owned; A/C elec windows, power steering, and looks nic with rear spoiler and 14" 5 spoke alloys. No problems (touch wood) so far.
