Having driven the Mondeo for 33k miles in ten months I would make the following comments:- a. Looks superb, drives well, well screwed together, returns over 50mpg if driven carefully, water into boot when opened is a joke, unable to see the offside mirror when it's raining as water doesn't deflect from the door pillar and runs along the side window, sometimes when decelerating into an island or a corner the car completely dies. The cutting out and the poor vision are safety features that need to be addressed by Ford.
It is really annoying that people take up space on this review site to comment on a car that they have had for just 10 minutes or took a short test drive in. I want to read about a car that someone has had for a year or so in order that I can assess what long term ownership means.
I have just taken delivery of a mondeo 2.2tdci titanium x in panther black as my new company car replacing a very good mondeo 2.2 tdci 155 titanium 55 reg. During the first day i had the car i did a 200 mile round trip. It is a very smooth ride even on 18 inch alloys. Performance is amazing as you would expect as it has 175bhp, The exterior of this car is stunning to look at as a titanium x. It has loads of space inside and comparing to my old mondeo with its quite big side windows, when sat in the cabin its seems more of a coupe with smaller windows. I cannot really comment on the mpg yet with such little milage and the engine has not really been run in just yet.
The spec on this car is very good with a few of the things being a big trip computer screen and voice control which you can change your climate control setting or cds with for example without touching anything. Other spec includes 18 inch alloys, leather heated seats, full electric windows and mirrors, heated screen, cruise control and 6 cd changer. With lots more than that.
Overall so far its turning out to be a great car and im looking forward to spening lots of times and miles in this car.
Tested car with the Sports pack 18inch wheels etc.for 2 days. Tyre noise and hard ride spoilt the experience but it looks good. The major downside was the '42inch colour television'in the centre of the instrument cluster, during night driving it cannot be switched off and is distracting. The satnav froze during one drive and even when off shows the time and date brightly in small text. I have decided to buy a Mondeo but have gone for the Ghia with it's silly plastic wood as I concluded that this was easier to live with than the Titainium cluster.
