    My car

I have owned this car for 23 months now and it has had to be returned to the dealership no less than 8 times. I have had a major brake failure where the brakes did not work at a T junction. I have had a power steering failure twice which resulted in the garage disconnecting it from the computer and replacing it with a hydraulic pump. we have now got a major computer issue leaving the car unstartable and undriveable. It was possibly the worst decision of my life to buy this car and i will not be buying a new Ford again. The garage has been less than helpful with repairs and has not once offered us a certosy car.

    My car

I too am amazed at the poor reviews so far. I have nothing but praise for my S-Max. I have owned it for 11 months now and it is an absolute workhorse. I use it for work fast high mileage business trips, Long distance fishing trips absolutely loaded up and general family usage + 1 dog. The reliabilty is first class it has never let me down (Not that it should at 11 months old and only 29k on the clock) its fuel usage is excellent lock it on cruise control at motorway speeds and it returns 54mg every time. I drive to and from Southampton to Manchester twice a week. Its load space is fantastic and the versatlity with the dog guard etc is excellent. I have sung its praises to everyone that I know and the population of S-Max's down here is growing !

    My car

Having reluctantly agreed with my wife that with 3 children and a frisky dog, the need for a 7 seater was inevitable. I therefore decided to go for the 2.5 Titanium option with full leather as a compromise to the loss of my beloved BMW 520. To date I have had no real problems, except for the electric windows being somewhat hesitant to close.. The engine is very quick, but very thirsty.. long runs will return about 350 miles to a full tank (£70.00). Lovely to drive, especially on the motorway.. Overall, very pleased, but wish black was easier to keep clean !

    My car

I must say I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews here, we've had ours a year, NOTHING has gone wrong at all.

The Mrs loves it, returning av. 43mpg, has transformed our lives with its practicality with kids, ease of use, massive boot and out and out fun to drive. Yes, its an MPV and its FUN to drive.

When I can actually prise the keys from the Mrs hands, if you actually enjoy active driving, this is the best MPV by miles, its handling (particularly on 18"s with IVDC or sports-susp) and 140+PS performance even with the Ford box returns smiles. Go for the 2.2 with the volvo manual box for big smiles.

Great product Ford - now please take a leaf out of Alfas book and send your CEO+team round the UK dealers and improve them to match.
