What an investment, mines a 2002 ex lease car with a full honda service history i bout it with 102k on clock excessive mileage of course, but now with 113k on the clock, reliability has been 100%.
It has decent low down power and of course theres the vtec which kicks in at about 4000 rpm and pins you back in your seat and sounds fabulous.
The ride is comforable and the sears are really supportive especially on long motorway journeys.
My only critisms are the image of the accord which is hard to shake off people class it as an 'old mans car' and being 24 thats why i opted for the sport version which gets a spoiler, side skirts, a very sutle body kit which really sets it off, the fuel consumption is a bit on the low side but drive sensibly and you can get mpg in the mid 30s.
Im a big BMW fan but after owning Honda i may never look back!
I've done 92k without a single fault. Everything's just fine. Reliability is superb. Steering is very sharp, enging pulls very well (it needs some revs, though), so it's fun to drive. The wind noise on the motorway is quite loud (above 75-80 mph), but fuel economy is good so I don't mind. Servicing is not bad, Honda garage people are friendly. I really do recommend the car.
I had this car for 2 years and 15K miles. I liked the build and size and it rode well.
The main problem was the peaky engine (nothing until 4500rpm) and 31mpg.
I swapped the car for a Mondeo 2.0 TDCI and couldn't believe the better performance, economy, running costs, interior etc.etc.
The new Accord 2.2 diesel would be fine if it was cheaper and a 5dr.
I have run this car from new (2002) and have done 130k without ever being off the road once.
Reliability is the key for the business user and this car gave more than I'd expected. I've now ordered a 2.2 CTDi Accord for March 05 delivery due to the satisfaction that this car has given me.
I've not had a single part changed under warranty! What does that tell you?
The Honda dealers have been superb, ever helpful and accomodating.
Buy a Honda and I would be suprised if you ever buy anything else again.
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
Owned for 1 year, as family runabout Pros good size, general build quality, powershift gearbox, good to drive, low costs Cons handling slighly…
Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
