I have had this car for a year (2001 x reg). Awesome is the best word to describe it.
I actually traded a CIVIC TYPE R for it that was 2 years newer but new baby meant something practical was needed - 4 doors but with a bit of poke.
The only niggle I have is long journeys can become painful in the leg area (but not as bad as in the Civic) due to the lack of adjustment on the driver's seat, but they look great so who cares?
It's a real street sleeper, hooligan dad's car, and guaranteed to annoy boy racers in their Saxos!!!
I thorougly recommended this car as a serious alternative to a civic as driven as it should be (off the rev limiter) it will give a civic a run for its money.
The only other let downs can be the dealer network, (you know who you are!!) and the cabin is a bit dull, not many toys but who needs toys as you hurtle towards the horizon at 8000 revs!!
Get one and smile.
Great car to drive but a bit on the big side for my liking!
The 1.8 VTEC engine can be noisy at low revs.
The Type-R is huge fun to drive as well as being a practical family car.
There's plenty of room for the wife and two kids, and the cabin is a pleasant place to be with lots of room.
This car posesses two personalities, it drives and behaves like another 2-litre family saloon if you're pottering around at the weekend or sitting in the commuter jams, that is if you keep it to under 6000 revs. But given a quiet road, let the revs go over 6000, and all hell lets lose right up to 8000rpm.
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
Owned for 1 year, as family runabout Pros good size, general build quality, powershift gearbox, good to drive, low costs Cons handling slighly…
Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
