I bought this car to replace a Honda Civic 2.2Cdti EX which I drove for three years without having anything done to it apart from the Bump stops repaired under warranty. So my first experience of Honda was made very positive after this first expereince The progression onto the Honda Accord Touring was a very pleasing one, all the comforts of home with Electrcaly heated seats, memory seats, dual climate control ... the list is endless. My friend bought a Jaguar XF and we compared the kit provided and was surprised how much more there was with the Honda! The car is very comfortable to drive and has more than adequate power for most normal people. The back seats are comfotable with ample leg & head room for most. The boot is slightly hampered by the suspension which does intrude into the boot space, but if it didn't you would be driving a van with windows! All in all the Honda is too expensive New so thats why I bought the car 6 months old and saved £6500. Economy is around 46 Mpg and road tax is £155 so many will opt for the Audi A4 but they will not get all the kit the Honda has!
I have owned this car for about 18 months. Done about 20,000 miles with absolutely no issues. Mine is the auto version which is superb on all roads except clear country A roads where a manuel box is superior.
The car is very refined, way beyond the previous model that I had which was also very good. The specification is unbelievable which makes the value of the car very strong in comparison to other makes.
When I bought this car I tried hard to dislike it as I wanted to buy an E class mercedes or BMW 5 series. However, I couldn't find a car with anything like the spec of the Honda and the price was another 7 - 8K, bit of a no brainer really.
It's really hard to fault the car. It doesn't hold as much luggage as the previous model but enough for normal family usage.
The car is really stylish and I love to drive it as much as possible. The big plus with Hondas is the reliability and quality of service from the dealerships at roughly half the price or an equivalent mercedes garage.
Definatly would recommed this car.
I am about to change my Audi A4 Avant so decided to test the Honda Accord Tourer. It is a stunning looking car and a real head turner,so much better looking than the car it replaced. Inside the seats are big and comfortable and it has a very soft ride even with the sports suspension. The dash has lots of buttons and the voice activated controls are really a gimmick as it takes around 6-10 secs to do anything, things started to annoy me like the ipod interface which calls out every song name when you are trying to find an album or song also the car has no ambient lighting so is pitch black at night. The biggest disapointment is the engine and road noise ,it is so noisy you end up with the stereo turned up louder to drown the noise out the old Accord engines were so quiet. The Accord is in the Audi,BMW price range but isnt a patch on refinement and thats the benchmark im afraid,i was pleased to get back into my 3 yr old Audi with 100k on the clock which is still much quieter than the Honda. Overall great to look at but let down by noise.
after a third of a mile i knew this car was not for me ,engine noisey, not a patch on my 320 bmw, lots of road noise, leather seats, you slide on the cushion. satnav and gearchange exellent, please take note bmw.car seems very wide from the drivers seat, and my previous car was an "e" class,no such feelings with that car. i would not like to think i had got a five hour drive in front of me in this car due to the overall noise.
