We bought this Honda as an urban run around to complement our Focus estate.
Bad points: Servicing is expensive at a Honda Dealer - so steer clear; suspension ride is harsh particularly for children in the rear over speed bumps etc. Noisey for long motorway cruising but the stero CD player cures that. Good points: Everything else! Fun to drive; capable engine; visibilty; space & practicality which is like a Tardis comfortably seating 4 large adults; reliable; fuel economy. May I also comment that we have had our 55 plate with the MPG meter running constantly, from new, reading 41.9 mpg. Not bad for a car used mainly for urban commuting/school runs!
We're keeping our Honda thank you very much.
Present Jazz is second one over a period of 3 years. Main use as Driving Instructor covering 22k miles a year.
Overall superb. Totally reliable, economical, easy and fun to drive - pupils love it - well equipped - space, both for passenges and luggage, is excellent. The back seat 'fold system' is remarkable!
One suggestion - rear wiper should have intermittent setting.
Other than that a really excellent car - can't find anything to challenge it if you need compact/practical/reliable/econonical/and fun car to drive and own. Definitely will be replacing this with a new one when time comes.
Fantastic - Well Done Honda (again!!!)
Bought the Jazz from new ('05) and wish I hadn't bothered. Has no oomph when overtaking and usually have to fall back because of the lack of power and forget about nipping out at a roundabout. Handbrake is utterly useless as I have to pull it all the way up with both hands and it usually rolls back (I live in a really hilly part of the Country). Okay for running around town but very noisey on the motorway.
Low tax and insurance is a plus but very expensive if servicing at the Main Dealer.
In short, I am looking at trading in for something else and would not consider buying another Jazz.
We bought the Jazz a year ago; it was on a 53 plate, with a relatively low mileage for the year (18,000).
In our period of ownership we have found it to be economical, easy to drive, very reliable and intelligently designed.
Initially I was rather sceptical about it, but the more I have driven it the more I have been struck by its positive virtues.
A tad more performance would be desirable, but it was not for this attribute that I bought the car.
I avoid the main dealers when it comes to servicing; in this way costs can be kept fairly low.
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
