What a lovely little car? i say little but much more spacious than you would think. Lots of little compartments in the cabin for storage and the boot fairly spacious for a small car. Drives well has no trouble with hills or pulling away. Petrol consumption amazing filling it up every two weeks costing an average of £25.00! I think it is an ideal ladies car offering everything you could want from a small car, i have owned a Citroen C3 and Renault Clio and this compares well.
I bought a Getz 1.1 CDX about 18 months ago on the recommendation of my mechanic and friends. It's a practical little car and quite spacious if there are only 2 of you. Heaven help you if you need to get 2 adults, a teenager and a baby into though! The boot space though roomy won't take a pushchair so you have to put it in the middle seat. With the car seat fitted it's tight getting the baby securely into it.
Performance isn't too bad on relatively straight roads, but overtaking is not for this car and you'd be better off in Holland where it's flat because going up hill or pulling away on a hill and you're in trouble.
I have it serviced every 6 months just to be on the safe side but there's nothing can be done about the pulling power!
I'm changing it for something else asap.
This is a tremendous little car. 109bhp and 173lbs/ft of tourqe push this lightweight about effortlessly. It's a remarkably relaxed long distance car too, with 70mph showing just 2,500rpm and the car will return 50mpg at this speed. It's also a hoot to hustle along B-roads too with overtaking a breeze - you don't even need to change down, so long as you have at least 2,000 revs on the clock, she'll nip past traffic easily. The handling is okay but a wider set of tyres would, I suspect, improve things. The car comes well equipped with air-con and a sunroof (usually you only get one or the other), a decent radio/CD, electric everything except seats - not convinced on the silver trim used on the central part of the dash though. Overall, after some 17,000 miles, I can say that I've got to know the car - and I adore it! The looks you get from drivers of "faster" cars as you go past them puts a grin on your face. So, anything up to 62mpg (my best to date), 109bhp, cheap insurance is great stuff - the icing on the cake is the low tax group the 1.5 CRTD CDX+ falls into, just £35 a year! Highly recommended.
Hired one for a week while we had our holiday in Spain last September. Despite some criticism from others on the engine power and interior material, I quite enjoyed driving it. The acceleration is alright with only 2 people as the body feels quite light. The ride was comfortable throughout the few hundred miles journey, in town or on A roads. Interior looks decent to me so no complaint. Air con made the journey pleasant in the heat. It’s a pity that we didn’t get the chance to test the reclining back seat. If I have to buy a small car, Getz will be on top of my shopping list due to small price tag and lengthy warranty.
