    My car

Good, sturdy workhorse with cavern of room. Strong engine, king of the road views all round, and beats similar shaped 4x4s on price and kit. Pity it was discontinued. I was very impressed when I 1st sampled the T off-road years ago in the month I was at the press launch in the UK. Now I've just bought one at 67,000 miles for £6,500. On road it wanders a bit on certain uneven cambers and wicked potholes and you then need to concentrate on steering. Thirsty on fuel. Quite well equipped and comfy. Central locking on mine ('04 model bought in March '11) sometimes gets confused.

    Overall, it's hard to fault.

    My car

I am Fortunate to have Driven Many Marques, and Types of Vehicle over the years, from a Mini, to a Bentley, along with Most 4 X 4's. My terracan, Purchased New, is a '2006 CRTDX Limited' Model, with Full Leather Interior, Privacy Glass, Built In DVD Player etc, with a Manual Gearbox.

The Performance on Tarmac, Especially when 'Towing', is More than Acceptable for Such a Large Vehicle with Genuine Offroad Ability, although my ONLY Disappointment with it, is that it CANNOT be used on DRY or even Wet Tarmac in 4WD Mode, as the Transmission would Lock Up, when Slow Cornering, or Manouvering! 4WD can ONLY be Used in Mud, Snow, Sand, or Ice. I was Only Told about this, days AFTER I had Completed the Purchase, and the Salesman, was Very Sheepish about the Fact that he Hadn't mentioned it, when I asked him for 'A Full Run Down' On the Vehicle!

Trim, Fit and Finish, Reliability, Comfort, have all been Very Good, and Thus, for the Money, I do not believe a Better Vehicle of it's Type can be found.

If You Want BMW X5, Refinement etc, then a Terracan is Not for You, but you Could Probably Buy, and Run 'Two' Terracans for What a 3.0 TD X5 will set you back.

If a Large Terracan REPLACEMENT(Not a Santa Fe) is introduced by Hyundai, then I would Probably Buy One Next.

    My car

Having driven my vehicle for over 40,000 miles on and off road, there have been few issues. Save for a near-side steering joint seal - replaced under warranty, I have used and abused the beast, but within the warranty conditions, serviced religiously every 10,000 miles and cleaned top to toe every week. I have found significant improvements in handling through changing the tyres to rubber from the TOYO stable, something with shedloads of grip in wet or dry conditions, on or off road. The handling was not he only thing to improve - my MPG went up considerably. Overall a vastly underrated vehicle, not pretty by Range Rover / Discovery standards, but pretty is what pretty does! Give me a workhorse any time!

    My car

I have enjoyed owning and driving my manual terracan over the last 2 years. so much so I have just taken delivery of my second one. These cars are such amazing value for money, practical, incredibly reliable and a match for most other 4x4's.the dogs dangley bits. Clearly they are not 4x4 limo's as per range rovers but in my opinion they will give the like of toyota LC's, shoguns etc a run for the money - actually the terracan shares a lot of shogun design - chassis, gearbox, running gear, etc.
