Have owned 4 Jags over the last 6 years and think this one is by far the best. Looked at the German alternatives and as far as I am concerned cannot hold a light to the Jag. Drove over to Austria in one hit (1800 miles) and got out as fresh as I had got in the car. Brilliant.
Although this is (was) my dream car, and looks beautiful, it has let me down. I bought this car from a main dealer in August this year, and it has spent more time in the garage being fixed than on the road. It is an 03 plate with 15k miles on the clock so it is virtually brand new. That said it has had every problem you can think of. The rear diff has been replaced, the steering wheel bushes replaced, the locking wheel nuts siezed and had to be drilled off, damaging the alloys, the brakes had to be replaced, the electronics in the gearbox re-mapped, the horn replaced... and the list goes on. The only reason this car gets 2 stars overall, is because of its looks, and when it does drive, it drives nicely. Sadly I will never buy a Jag again
I have been the owner of the S-Type 2.7 Diesel for 6 months and can only express my joy and deep pleasure I feel every time I get into this car. Having owned two BMW 5 Series over the past 10 years (both excelent) I feel that the quality of this is superior in its roadholding and the wonderful engine is so much quieter and responsive to my previous cars My Jag is a manual- the only way, in my view, to appreciate it fully and always achieving in excess of 43 MPH on a run What a shame Jaguar are soon to replace this most beautiful model!.
A lovely car and a refereshing change from my old 535series.The diesel engine is incerdible its smooth, quite and has loads of pull.
The economy is not as good as Id hoped, I get around 30mpg in town and 38mpg on a run. Mine is loaded with all the toys and its a joy.
The dealer network is also very good.

I've had 6 VWs now including this one and it is a mixed bag. In no particular order the economy is poor despite the FSI badging and in town never…
Why is there so much whining about the rear sets? It's small - it's called a "mini" (hint). It didn't get any smaller after you bought it, so deal…
