    My car

Been driving an Impreza with Prodrive since 2004. A great performing car. I have test driven various BMW and Audi’s. While in South of France a car pulled up outside the restaurant, really eye catching. I was stunned to find it was a Jaguar XF! On returning to the UK I visited the local Jag dealer. The friendly and professional approach of the staff was immediately a contrast to the nonchalant treatment from various BMW and Audi dealers. An immediate test drive of an XF 3.0d S Portfolio with dynamics pack and aero pack ensued. What a drive! Dual carriageway, A road then winding B road driving it like my Impreza. I couldn’t believe the power and acceleration. Switching to dynamic mode and it was glued to the road on the tightest of corners with foot to the floor. The sensation was fantastic and beyond my driving expectations. Then there was the luxury of the cockpit that oozed quality, modern style and impeccable attention to detail. Minimal road noise and amazing sound system. My first XF experience was accompanied by a permanent jaw aching perma-smile. Jaguar I owe you an apology! I thought you were an old man’s car maker with complimentary flat cap and cravat for all, but here you have created a work of mechanical luxury with the heart of a bison and feline lines. I do have one problem; I have to continue to drive my Impreza until my new 3.0D S arrives in September, yes with the stunning dynamic and aero pack. Swapping my boy’s toy for a man’s toy? Absolutely!

    My car

I grew up with Jaguars, as my Father was a great fan. He had nearly all models, including several Mk2s, Mk 10, three E-types and an XJS. I came to Jaguar ownership late in life (55!) when I bought a new S-type 2.7 Diesel. It was a fabulous car which I drove for four years. I then, last year, bought a new XF 3-litre Diesel....and WOW!!!! The S-type was very good, but the XF is in a completely different league. Taking ALL factors into consideration (price, economy, looks, comfort, performance, performance and performance) I really believe this is the best car in the World! Jaguar REALLY have scored here. BMW, Audi and Mercedes look boring by comparison, and the Germans should be worried. I drive FAST and I still get around 40 mpg! Like one of your other respondents, I have a smile on my face every time I sit in it and drive away.

Lastly, I bought my car through Riders in Truro (Cornwall). What an excellent family owned and run agent. I give them 110% for customer service! Oh, lastly lastly, Riders found the colour I wanted quite quickly, although the car had one extra, the rear view camera. At first I was very sceptical about its usefulness, but now I have grown use to it I could not live without it. It is BRILLIANT! Advice to prospective buyers, include a rear view camera! Apart from that, the standard XF has all the extras you could ever want as standard. I give this 10 out of 10 in every respect! BUY ONE!

Oh, I actually would like an XF Estate! Please, Jaguar!

    My car

Having had a sporty 2 seater for years, I wanter a sporty family car. I hate 4*4's, so a sporty saloon it had to be. Looked at many cars including the Audi A5 and the BMW 5 series (including the new one), but none of them did it for me. The XF provided a great combination of space, styling, performance, and price. Initially is was worried about the reliability (being used to Japanese brands), but so far no problems at all. The Jaguar XF was the only car I felt special in. Compared with the XF, Audi and BMW where simply bland. I went for the 3.0D luxury as it has all the options you need (BMW and Audi watch and learn that a base model should already have sat nav and leather!). Plenty of space for family, baby, and plenty of luggage. The family loves it and many people have mentioned how great it looks. I can recommend this car to anyone.

    My car

No doubting it's a wonderful car to drive. However, am I the only person who thinks it looks a little cheap? It has more than a whiff of Ford about it. And the chrome isn't right, too plastic-looking; the overall effect is all a little too... erm, Chigwell?

Can't help thinking, chuck a blue oval badge on it and it could be the new Scorpio.....
