This car now has 10,000km on the clock. It has good build quality, a lot of space inside, and excellent ergonomic qualities. It's also a nice-looking car, with very good proportions and a logical silhouette.
It's a pretty good motor in the city and on the motorway - even going at 200kph, the Cee'd is stable and all the time under control. It is an easy to drive car .
In terms of economy, flat-out on the German autobahn it manages 8 litres per 100km (at an average speed of 160km/h), in the city 8.2 and its lowest average is 6.5.
There's little wind noise, which is a very nice surprise because the audio system plays wonderfully.
However, there are drawbacks. The suspension is noisy sometimes, the steering feels a bit remote, the door mirrors are too big, and when cornering I have visibility problems.
Overall, the Cee'd is on a par with the competition in the C-class, and is excellent value for money.
TOOK 3 DAY TEST DRIVE. VERY IMPRESSED SO BOUGHT THE SPECIAL EDITION SR .SAME SPEC AS GS WITH £1300 SAVING. ALSO MANAGED TO BEAT TARGET PRICE BY £300. ALWAYS HAD CIVICS BUT AM NOW PRICED OUT OF THAT MARKET.ALL IN ALL, CEE'D IS EXCELLENT VALUE AND VERY COMFORTABLE.THE BEST OF THE KORIANS BY FAR. WELL FINISHED, ROOMY AND WELL EQUIPED.1.6 PETROL IS PICK OF PETROL ENGINED MODELS.DEALERSHIP VERY FRIENDLY AND NOT AT ALL PUSHY. (F. CROSS SCUNTHORPE)
I took advantage of the Diesel for Petrol offer saving £1000 on the price and have now covered 1100 miles. Taken overall, this car is one of the best I have owned in the past few years. It's comfortable, quiet and economical (51 mpg)and very well made. It has a few faults like the centre console reflecting in the windscreen and the firm ride, although this is not as bad as the disastrous Civic that I owned for a few months last year. Definitely a keeper, especially with that 7 year warranty.
My wife & I have had this car for a 3 day test drive. The acceleration is very smooth & quick( well, anything is quicker than our 1.4 307) & I found engine to be very quiet especially on the motorway. Equipment levels are more than enough for me to play with (I like the deep orange glow at night from the dash instruments), & I found everything was within easy reach. Minor niggles: Indicator stalk on right hand side of steering wheel takes some getting used to but is manageable after a couple of days. Sound system although good bass levels was rather tinny. Door grab handles appear to be made out of cheapest plastic they could find. Such a shame as the rest of the interior was very good.Overall a good little car.
