    My car

This is a fantastic family car. I have owned a Defender in the past and I loved that, but the Dscovery just does everything the defender did but better.

The V8 is thirsty, but then so are most 4x4s. I get an average of 20mpg but I have got 28mpg once.

My model has forward-facing rear seats, which makes them much more comfortable than side-facing seats.

I think the car's handling is acceptable for the car's size, and the accelaration is very good too, but you do have to be careful, otherwise you'll be stopping at every fuel station.

There is a good amount of standard kit: I have cruise control, a CD player, air-conditioning, front fog lights and headlight washers. I think all these are quite unusual to come as standard.

The car can cope off-road but I don't want to challenge the car too much in case I scratch it.

Reliability has been good so far, much better than the defender, but I don't like Land Rover's customer service - it needs improving.

I would recommend this car to anybody who has an active lifestyle, or anyone who wants a good, honest 4x4.

    My car

I used to have an old Disco and now have a TD5. It is perfect for my needs. It tows brilliantly, I can get any amount of stuff in it. It can convert into a good family car as well as be a van when needed. I get over 30mpg driving at quite high speeds when safety allows, but tend to drive it slowly in the countryside where I live. If only other car users would do the same.

So far so good. I loved my other one and this one seems very good too.

    My car

It's a tractor but it does what it needs to do with aplomb. Fantastic family car, which is fine as overtaking isn't an option!

    My car

We owned two of these cars. They were both totally practical and brilliant at pulling and any time you would wish to go off road - however they both needed new clutches after 30,000 miles.

Landrover dealerships where we bought both of them said it was my driving (which it was not) and we had to pay for two new clutches. Otherwise we really enjoyed them and drove to France for skiing etc etc - never had any breakdowns and were very suitable for a life involved with horses.
