    My car

I bought this car at 2.5 years old with 65k miles primarily for towing heavy trailers in poor conditions.

I didn't feel the diesel was up to the job - hence the 4.6-litre V8. I've fitted a sequential LPG injection system, which has dropped the fuel costs to the equivalent of high 30s (I have a 40 miles each way daily commute) and reduced the environmental impact to boot.

It's fantastic to drive, very comfortable and is stunning when towing heavy trailers in poor conditions. I've had a couple of coolant leak problems, but so long as main dealers are avoided, parts and servicing has been quite cheap - which ws a pleasant suprise!

    Overall it's surpassed my expectations.

    My car

THE CAR ITSELF IS VERY COMFORTABLE TO DRIVE AND LEAVES YOU WITH A SILLY GRIN ON YOUR FACE AT MOST TIMES.

HOWEVER THE AIR SUSPENSION IS A NIGHTMARE AND, ALTHOUGH THE QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS USED IS EXCELLENT, THERE ARE MANY RATTLES AND SQUEAKS.

ALSO WE FIND THE SEAT BELTS ARE TOO SHORT TO BE PRACTICABLE FOR A PREGNANT LADY

I STILL LIKE DRIVING IT THOUGH!

    My car

The pre '02 Range Rover is overall a superb value luxury 4 x 4 - if bought used, not new!

The depreciation in the first couple of years is huge, but this means you can pick up a bargain, even from Land Rover dealers who will offer warranties.

I've had some aircon problems, covered by warranty, but otherwise trouble free.

The power to weight ratio (equivalent to an elastic band powering a jumbo jet) means that the engine has to work very, very hard and so economy suffers. It also means it's a bit of a snail regarding acceleration, but it will happily cruise at high speeds - eventually!

If you can live without the acceleration, find a low mileage one with warranty and it will take some beating!

    My car

I was "forced" into buying this car by the wife - to pull her horsebox! and my initial thoughts were "oh my god, how much is this going to cost in fuel ?!?!"

However, it's really grown on me. The driving position is superb, the autobox is very smooth and it is gigantic inside. We moved house recently and didn't need the removers!

My only minor niggle to date (owned it for 8 months) is the squeak from the nearside front brake which I believe is fairly common. So, all in all, I'm very pleased - so much so, I've banned my wife from using it (it's amazing how much hay can be deposited in a vehicle).
