We have owned our A150 Elegance from new and it is now 26 months old. Everything was OK for the first 12 months apart from a couple of minor faults which the dealer couldn't fix. Unfortunately since its first birthday it has been a nightmare. A selection of the faults include Bodywork loose, doors loose, clutch went after 19K miles front suspension movement, 3 door locks replaced, washer faults and several rear suspension components needed replacing. In all no less than 16 faults in 14 months and the car is booked in to the dealer with another 3 faults needing fixing. And the response from MB is that the quality of our vehicle is fine. ***AVOID THE A CLASS***
update on my review of 19/6. the noisy engine did not improve with miles and bouncy ride became such an irritation on all journeys that i finally gave in ,did a deal with the leasing company, and changed back to a renault laguna. this ticks the boxes and is a pleasanter car to live with.
This is an excellent small car. The 140bhp diesel engine coupled with the smooth autotronic gearbox makes for easy and economical city driving. Its also extremely refined on the motorway, 90mph equates to just over 2000rpm. Small on the outside, able to seat 5 adults and convert to a small van in seconds, the baby Merc is also very pratical. Others have reported quality/servicing issues with both the car and MB dealers. Not in my case. Faults? very few. The ride is a little choppy around town and the engine gets a bit growly as it nears the red line.
We bought this car used from a mercedes main dealer, we where happy with the deal that they gave us. Unfortunately as soon as they had sold us the car it all went down hill. We found several problems with the car, wind noise issues and rattles etc. We also had problems with getting a second key and a HPI report promised by them, plus other paperwork issues. None of these issues have been resolved 4 months after buying the car. We have repeatedly told lie after lie by mercedes staff at the dealership and at Mercedes UK head office. They never return our calls, They never keep any of there promises, they stole from our car when it was in the garage to have these issues resolved. I would have to say that this is the worst customer service I have ever had from any company ever! What was going to be a nice experience buying our first Mercedes Benz turned into a nightmare? Take my advice DO NOT BUY A MERCEDES BENZ!!
