How can anyone knock this car. I'm getting 42 mpg (against 31 mpg in an automatic Zafira petrol) lower road tax, cheaper insurance and a superb drive. The automatic gearbox is fantastic any rarely goes above 2000 revs (except when I want to push it along) and there are 7 manual forward gears to play with if i'm bored. My wife thinks it's great and the 4 Germans who were passing my drive came to have a closer look and they certainly liked it. Only problem has been a flat battery after leaving it for a week at the airport but Mercedes Assist were with me in 45 minutes and had me back on the road and my dealesr is going to replace the battery next week.
This is my first ever merccedes and will be my last.. Got my new 18cdi in sept o5, car replaced by MB in june 06. car had been in the garage 9 times with a knocking sound from the front suspension dealer had no idea what the knocking sound was then 8 months later dealer found the problem faulty steering rack.
This is my second ever mercedes and will be my last .. Got my replacment b class in june complete with knocking sound from the suspension. (we think its the steering rack again) Well on the bright side second b class drives better than the first engine is quieter and we now get 48 mpg fist one was getting 36 mpg
This car was a real disappointment. I was expecting a reliable car above all and have had nothing but problems.
It has needed a repair on average every six weeks so far. Fuel consumption is also bad, not all all like advertised.
I simply cannot see me driving this car for very long, mainly due to the poor reliability, but also because of the poor handling and fuel consumption.
Sorry, this is my first Mercedes and my last. I have had Volvos before and they're in a different league!
This is the second Mercedes Benz I have owned, the other is the A-Class.
The B-Class is a good quality car with lots of room at the back, and the boot is a good size as well.
In terms of equipment, you have a very short list but it is more than enough for most people, as you don't need all the extras. The sports package is money well spend too, as the Autotronic is a 'must' - Mercedes Benz do not make good manual gear boxes!.
The car drives well in most road conditions, although the steering is too light for me, but the sport wheel does feel good.
At this time, I don't know what the running costs are yet, but I think it'll be quiet expensive - most Mercedes are.
