My car

I recently took delivery of a S320CDi long wheelbase and so far have found the car to be excellent. Its extremely quiet, handles very well for a car of that size and it returns over 30 mpg.

My car

I use this car for long distance travel from Spain to UK and Holland. It is brilliant for that. I have come from a BMW 530D and whilst the Beemer is slightly tauter and quicker off the mark, the Merc has no match for effortless cruising.Fuel consumption is around 8.4 litres per 100 Km long distance and 12 in town.

Concerns are that this is such a sought after car that the professional gangs who steal to order will find it irresistable for some entrepreneur, east or south of the border.

It also is not handy for supermarket shopping but I keep a more modest car for that. The entertainment module is best in class. Pity the Ipod connection is not standard. The phone arrangement is best I have come across.

The distance control cruise system works well even to a full "crash stop" but the first few times you need nerves of steel to keep your foot off the brakes. In stop start trafic it stops in time but is too slow to get under way again and leaves too big a gap before it gets going again.

I was concerned that this car finally confirms my status as an old man but my 21 year old daughter says it looks sexy

My parents have bought me this car, and it is phenominal. It is so fast, it is unbelievable. It is so comfortable and spacious. We factory collected it, and the ride back was amazing. I fell asleep on the journey back it was so relaxing. This car is a must have...a goal in life.

I have just driven my 320 CDI long wheel base 250 miles to the Festival of speed at Goodwood and back and returned 35mpg. The car cruised at over 75mph in complete silence except for the cd player. I can tell it what to do, who to phone, what cd and track to play, the linguatronic understands everything I say. The dealer told me they will not replace this vehicle for some 8 years god knows what they will put on it then.
