What a car! Fanatastic to drive, more GT than sports car. It is a heavy with a super smooth V8 engine. Performance is more than enough for everyday use, & that is the great thing about the car, it truly is an everyday car. Handles well, comfortable ride, the ABC suspension is excellent, roof mechanism is 2nd to none. It will bring a smile to your face everyday. Autobahn express, beats BMW hands down! SL 55 AMG thats something else- Hardcore 500SL is the perfect convertible but for two people only
Having recently purchased an SL500, I must admit it's something very special - I get the same buzz now as I got two months ago when I first took delivery. A true supermodel in the supercar world, it stands out on the road like Claudia on the catwalk.
It's very smooth to drive and there's plenty of power at hand. If you kick down at 60mph and it's like leaving the lights again! I looked at my present-day boyhood dream, the new Porsche Carrera range, and was shocked and disappointed by the cheap instument dials and cabin quality.
Also, I am a 14 stone guy and tried to squeeze myself into the Porsche's child-size cabin - it really shattered my illusion when I could finally afford one. If you want a head-turning roadster of the likes of BMW 6 Series, Jaguar XK or even the Porsche Carerra, do yourself a favour and buy the Mercedes SL series.
Terrible dealer with chronic new car prep not even Kia standard.
Trouble with roof not closing several times now
Otherwise very good and a relaxed ride. Pity it does not have Porsche badge with their better service and reliability.
Great sports car and probably the fastest one on the market that is not Italian.
It looks better than any other car I have seen but things like fuel, insurance and the cost to buy let it down.
Great weather protection and 7 speed auto geerbox. But I still think that it could do better with a smaller engine and without a limiter it can do at least 160mph.
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
Amazing car, once driven, never forgotton, forget all the pretenders like BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK, they will never have the passion of a Porsche
I love this car! Handling is great, its fun to drive and even reasonably practical!
