    My car

I traded a 52 plate Amera Tino in December and after initially looking for a Nissan Note as a direct replacement stumbled across a Mitsubishi Colt at Browns of Grimsargh. I used to work for Auto Trader magazine and knew the dealership (my present company has their 4x4's serviced there. that aside the dealership were magnificent in levels of service and customer care.

My sceptical wife was immediately put at ease and after a reassuring test drive went ahead with the purchase. The car is a belter, if you want searing pace and lightening speed look elsewhere (or get the CZT) but i own the base model CZ1 in a 58 plate. I get well over 50 to a gallon, 40 quid to fill up (which i now do about once a month)it drives around town like a dream, loads of leg room (Tall wife) and my son loves it. Our family is extending soon and i have thought about a bigger car, i just cannot bear to let go of this, there's enough space for day to day shopping and days out and with the petrol and car tax/insurance savings we are making i'll just hire a car for holidays.

A great little car and believe me Mitsubushi's are very very reliable

    My car

Bought the car in 2007 AMT is awful we had to take the car back, as we had a few near death moments as gearbox would not engage. Petrol consumption is bad, pillars on side of the car obstruct vision. Service costs outrages, has a permanent squeak at the front of car that cannot be found by the garage. On the plus side, its quite nippy sticks well to the road. After driving this car for nearly two years, i can say i will never buy another one.

    My car

    Good points:

Loads of room for us and our dogs. Sliding rear seat system is great. Nice drive as long as you dont push it.

    Bad points:

Allshift gearbox is terrible. Too much road and engine noise. Stereo is terrible.

Bought my CZ2 1.3 with the allshift gearbox in March 2008 to use for my driving school. Overall not a bad little car. Its now covered 10000 miles. Only real gripe is the auto gearbox. Very unpredictable gear shift. Upshifts are fine, but down shifts are not as smooth as I would expect. The car also tends to stay in "false neutrals" when downshifting, then it slips the clutch when you want to accellerate out of corners. This results in a slight delay when leaving junctions, and especially entering roundabouts. Because of this major failing i will not be purchasing another one.

    My car

Excellent smaller car. I have the diesel allshift which drives well with decent acceleration and is reliable, comfortable, economical and fun. Im very pleased with the engine which has good mid range acceleration and happy with the Allshift. Its good to be able to shift manually on steep and or winding roads , especially for overtaking but full automatic is fine for the rest of the time. Build quality is fine, including the interior which some complain about - come on! if you want a wooden dash & less plastic then pay for it!!! The seating is good enough to transport 4 6 footers on a 4hr journey without stopping and with little discomfort on arrival. Only 3 issues for me. The steering is a bit heavy (I have arthritis and had to have a steering wheel knob fitted to assist). At this price it deserves electric mirrors and side airbags and the Boot is pretty pathetic if you use it a lot but the seats are very easy to put down and increase your carrying capacity. Can be irritating though. Some people complain about the visibility but Ive never had a problem but reversing sensors would have been nice. All in all this is a great little car - fun to drive and cheap to run. Ive had this one 6 mths and would certainly buy another.
