As you will see from my last review, I have had problems with my clutch. Having had a new clutch installed after 11,000 miles and my first time of collecting a horse trailer, five weeks later and my first time with the new clutch reversing my trailer my new clutch has gone again. Mitsubishi have just informed me that I am to pay for this clutch which is 5 weeks old and only had 2500 miles on it. Apparently I have worn the clutch out again. Funny as I had my last four x four for five years, towed 2 horses weekly and never had to replace the clutch. Maybe its because I am female they are saying this to me!!! Please tell me anyone that has had these sort of problems. Mitsubishi is the worst company I have ever had a car from and there is no way I would ever rate their after sales car. !!!
I bought an 05 plate Shogun Sport Warrior 2.5TD three weeks ago and so far I have not stopped smiling. I love the car. The 16" alloys have some corrosion but these will be changed under warranty so no big deal.
My job requires that I go to some storage facilities which are usually muddy pipe yards or rig sites and the Sport does the business. Also I have 1200kg caravan, so towing is dream.
It is not too noisy and the consumption is what I expected. No handling problems either. The car gets my vote everytime!
I bought the 3.0-litre V6 automatic model a month ago, despite mixed reviews from users.
So far the car's appeal hasn't faded. Features are spartan but it is adequate for its price range. The car has tons of space, and its elevated position makes it a very reassuring drive.
The following are the down sides: the noise levels on the motorway could be improved, the car is not a fast mover but I expected that when I bought it, and the car sometimes lurches when cornering very fast but that is probably my bad handling.
I also noticed the lack of micro air filter and you do get whiffs of exhaust fumes if you are stuck behind a lorry. I live in Dubai, so the car was very well priced at £10,000 pounds.
I find it shocking that the diesel model is sold for twice that much in the UK, but then again, there are no taxes on anything in Dubai.
We have had our Shogun Sport for nearly two years and it has been very reliable. The only failures have been two bulbs, the tailgate not locking and a flat battery. The latter was traced to a towbar electrics fault, so was not really the car's fault.
It gives about 27 to 30mpg on a run. It's excellent off-road and acceptable on-road - after all its a proper 4x4, not a wannabee.
The service from our dealer has been second to none. There has always been a courtesy car, it's always washed on return and they always phoned to let us know when the car was ready for collection. This is very important to me as I live 50 miles from the dealership in the rural north-west.
The car has covered nearly 55,000 miles so its not cossetted by any means.
Would I buy another? Yes, I would. It's a good car.
