    My car

I bought this car with 7k on the clock and have mostly been impressed by it. It drives well,is spacious, toys are plentiful and it looks the bizz (well i think so). Fuel economy is fine for a 1.6 petrol (averaging 43mpg) and has pretty much been trouble free. On the down side it has just gone through a 24k service and required 4 tyres at £105 each (apparently only Continental manufacture tyres for the car and because they are an unusual size - 185/55/V16's - then this bumps up the price). It's a pity dealers don't tell you this when you buy the car! It also requires front brake discs and pads because the discs are badly corroded, which at 24k,i think is poor.I am still waiting for a quote for these but have been told it will be £200'ish.The Renault engine could be more refined, sometimes feeling that a 6th gear would help.Driver leg-room could also be improved,i feel slightly cramped at times and i'm only 5ft 10" tall. Apart from these slight niggles i find the Note a nice car to own and drive, and love it's looks (especially in metallic grey). 8/10.

    My car

My review is based on the Note I had as a hire car for 7 days. I drove it 1250 miles in just 7 days! This is a good car. Very comfortable for long journey. I usually need height adjustable seat to be comfortable, this base model didn't have this, yet I didn't feel any pain after 4 hours of constant driving. AC was effective, all round visibility was excellent. Space was very good inside. The car suffered slightly on cross winds on open roads while driving 65+mph. I drove on challenging mountain roads without problem. This is not a race car and so acceleration wasn't dramatic. But I don't drive like nuts, especially on mountain roads, so I had no complaint. I even did a little bit of off-roading with it. But it seemed to run out of puff over 80mph on motorways. Brakes were also good. Overall I do recommend it for a family car. I didn't calculate fuel economy but roughly it is not excessive for a car of this size. Overall a good MPV for the family.

    My car

I brought the Note from new and I have had it for four weeks now. At first it seemed ok but I was soon troubled by engine noise and poor running costs. It's already been back once and they don't seem able to locate the fault. The rear window blinds are hopeless and have fallen on my little one's head on several occassions already. This is my first Nissan and overall I'm disappointed. The Note does seem slightly unbalanced on cornering and did seem to get caught out in strong winds.

    My car

Just passed 1000 miles on our Note Acenta R Automatic. Our Honda Accord auto will be kept because it is simply too good to “give away” but fair to say that the Note is actually quite splendid in comparison. We find the upright sitting and getting in/out an advantage over the low Accord and I have found the brakes and engine response very impressive. MPG on a new engine is averaging 44 overall and this manual calculation is almost exactly what the on board computer states over the 1000 miles. I was surprised to find the auto box is as smooth as the Accord and the “overdrive” option more than just a novelty. The versatility and legroom front and rear is excellent for what appears to be a small vehicle and this is welcome for me as a tall person with a left leg disability. Steering is light and responsive although I have found a slight “wandering” in cross winds considering it isn’t actually a tall car. Equipment levels ok (no water temp gauge!!) and storage space is very good and well planned although the picnic tables are indeed a novelty – no kids in the back but I wouldn’t trust them if there were! As I said only 1000 miles to date but I am impressed with this versatile car and indeed the local Nissan dealer. Sorry Honda, we wanted to like the Jazz but the Note won on several counts. Sam.
