Love the car, hate the doors. I've owned the car since June 08 and have also had many problems with the doors, especially during cold weather.
I attempted to the close the drivers door 20+ times one morning to no avail, called the local dealer, being advised to spray the door runners with WD40 to allow the rails to run free!
I now carry a tin of the stuff in my glovebox and it's a fingers crossed exercise every cold and frosty morning as I never know when it's going to play up again.
We had snow last week and temp down to -3 during the day, thank goodness I didn't have to open the doors, as I really don't think they would have shut again.
We bought this car in July 2007 and have had no end of problems!!! It has been in for door faults several times and still is not right. The doors have opened whilst driving, trapped me in the car, shut me out of the car, shut on me, not closed, the list goes on. We also have a problem with the gear box over heating when in traffic leaving me stranded on several occasions. Also if not driven for a day the car shows a anti pollution fault and runs badly doing only 20 mpg. All the faults on the car are intermitant and seem to rectify themselves and then fail again randomly. I do not enjoy driving this car as I am constantly worried about what will let me down next.......!
I bought this car in Feb 07 as a second hand car previously owned by the dealership. To date this car has been in and out of several Peugeot dealers 8 times. The doors are a nightmare and have either been trapping people by closing so quickly (including 2 technicians) or won't shut atall. I feel it is a health and safety hazard as the doors do not stop on contact and could seriously damage a small child. I am furious, as the car in general is nice. The interior is good, driving position is great. I think that if you are driving up hills etc it isn't ideal. I am currently going through the process of solicitor representation as the faults on the doors are never permanantly fixed. I would like to hear from any other owners who have the same problems as peugeot have stated that this is not a common fault.
I bought this car 2006. The door problem started after the weather started getting wet. The doors were trying to open whilst we were driving, when you close them they open again, they try to open in carwashes. Basically the doors have a mind of their own. The contacts were replaced in 2007 and we thought the problems were over. 1 year later the problems are back when its cold and wet again. The dealership and Peugeot Head Office both deny there are ongoing problems with the doors on other 1007's in the UK. We have had the contacts replaced again after a huge row with HQ as our warranty was out by 2 months and were forced to pay 10% which gave us 1 year warranty on the parts. We are waiting not for a response from HQ as we are now saying that they must be mis diagnosing the fault, any suggestions would be appreciated- email@example.com
