I have had my car since April 2007. I bought it off the internet at a car garage - I bought the car for £700. My father was with me, who is a mechanic.
The car neaded a polish, as the dealer said he had just had the car that day. That put me off a bit, but my dad had a look as much as you can while we were there. We got it home, gave it a polish and it looked mint.
I've had it now for nearly three months and have had no problems. I've always been a Ford and Vauxhall man, but now I realise I've missed a lot - the drive is so comfy.
I'm amazed with the car.
Family owned from new - mine for last 5 years. Good handling, very comfortable, very economical, totally reliable. Only gripe - 1.8 8v lacks power.
I have owned this car for seven months now and puchased it with 119,000 miles on the clock. I had slight problems initially with regard to leaks into the rear footwells, which I believe is a common problem with Renaults as a whole.
The only other things it needed were a new battery (it's best to have a nice heavy duty battery for this particular model) and normal wear and tear (brakes).
I find that it is a very economical car in comparison, bearing in mind the engine capacity.
Long struts on motorways are what this car was designed for - it has a very smooth and comfortable ride with a pleasant interior, although it is lacking somewhat in gadgets like air-con etc.
Just bear in mind that it is French and as such is comparably expensive to repair - in the region of £500 for new clutch, for example!
Lastly, if you are a family person, then this is definately the car for you - the luggage space is positively huge.
This is not my car its my dads but he has had some problems after he got this car. Like water leaks and a fuel gauge that does not work other than thats its very practical but not much in the way of equipment by moderdern standards. Cabin quality is full of cheap platics. the seat are comfortable and a good long distane cruser. Dont feel bumps to bad. personaly i prefair vauxhall cavilrer which was nicer to drive
good cheap to buy family car

Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
