I have only had the car for a week, but I'm so in love with it!
For a 1.3, it's very quick and revs freely. It's quiet and smooth and very comfortable.
I love the funky styling, and after owning a run-of-the-mill Ford Fiesta for the last four years, it's a breath of fresh air.
I would recommend one to anyone, and as they are linked with Mercedes, the service is spot on.
I have owned this car since it was released back in September 2004. I was the first Forfour owner in the UK, as I ordered mine after a test drive in Amsterdam. Then my Forfour came when the dealers received their demonstrator models. I have driven about 30,000 miles since.
Many of my miles have been motorway miles. A £30 tank will power the car for 300 miles - that's 10p a mile.
The drive is very responsive. The car is very quick for the 1.1 engine size. It is a pity the Forfour is no longer made now. I would have updated my car with a new Forfour every year otherwise.
If you are thinking of getting a Smart Forfour then just go and test drive one. They are amazing. The style is great.
I can say I am going to buy a new Forfour just before they stop selling them. The parts are still going to be available.
I had one of these as a courtesy car last week for a few hours. I'm used to a 2.0T engine in my Golf and I have to say I was shocked at the performance of a car with nearly half the engine capacity of my own car.
It was also really fun to drive - reminded me of my MINI which I sold last year.
The engine sounds is very unique from inside the cabin. It's quite loud but a pleasing sound. Really you have to drive this car to know what I'm going on about - so go to your local Smart/Merc and DRIVE ONE NOW!!!
I'm sure with a bit more power I would have offered a swap. Something about this car is just amazing.
I have driven many cars, but this one is a cracker. It combines Mercedes build quality and customer service with stonking performance and very frugal running costs - ideal.
Try the auto (which is very rare with a diesel) - it's a six-speed gearbox, and makes the car very quick. The quoted 95bhp power doesn't tell the story though - look at the torque figure and the weight of the car. At 20-60 mph, the acceleration is absolutely hilarious, yet still returning 60-70 mpg! This is the most fun I have had in a car in years.
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
