My car

When I looked at the reviews for this car I was in two minds about it, so I test drove it.

Wow! Don't be guided by other peoples comments, test drive one!

I bought the car, and what a fantastic car it is, it feels so fast. Don't believe the 0-60 ratings, they may be correct but from 0-40 it is blisterring, very very fast.

The car is so economical and such fun with the roof down and sticks to road like its glued down.

Approaching round-abouts, take some getting use to in the automatic setting, so a quick swith to manual is needed.

I want to keep this car for ever, it is truly a master peice!

My car

I bought one of these cars second-hand having done two test drives and having rented one for a weekend.

Well, what can I say? The image is fantastic, the running costs are very affordable and the drive is superb. The car attracts admiring glances wherever you go and it is essentially a feel-good car.

There are not many of them about either, which is a bonus. I would recommend one to anyone who doesn't require a practical car!

My car

I own an executive barge and, approaching my mid-life crisis, decided I needed a second car that is fun, great to look at and yet cheap to run. The Smart Roadster delivers on all counts when it comes to the male "menoporsche".

I have not owned a "sports" car before so had little to compare with on roadhandling but this car takes roundabouts and bends at speeds that would have a limpet begging for mercy. OK, it is not as macho looking as a TVR or Jaguar but it does have a look which seems to appeal to both sexes and also kids.

If you're looking for something different, great fun to drive and yet very cheap to own/run, you cannot go wrong. The only criticisms I have relate to interior trim quality (ok, I am used to Mercs so a little unfair) and the automatic mode of the gearbox (sequential-auto also available) is not the smoothest around.

I look forward to trying out the Brabus version next...

My car

This car is about having fun and at the same time enjoying all the practical elements of a vehicle.

Given the 698 engine, you wouldn't expect the performance that is delivered or the impressive 55mpg combined efficiency.

The only thing I felt was missing was sat nav, so I installed a Smart Nav system and now the experience is complete.
