    My car

How much fun is it driving this car?

It's fantastic! It sticks to the road, takes about £23 to fill up for 300 miles and looks extremely cool.

Removing the roof bars serves no purpose other than looking even more cool than with them on! And the automatic soft-top retraction is smooth as silk.

OK, so on the basic model you don't get many toys, but isn’t the whole car a toy? Getting in and out takes a little practice. But once you've got the knack, it's a piece of cake. However, while learning, prepare to fall in the car and stumble out of it, feeling like something of a novice.

There are only two criticisms - the first being the window visors. The design means that sunlight can peek through the hinge at the top right into your eyes, so you have to tilt it at a somewhat peculiar angle to be effective.

My second criticism is the automatic gear box. When coasting to a roundabout, put your foot down and it takes a second or two for the gears to change down. This can be a heart-stopping couple of seconds. You put your foot down, nothing happens and you frantically jab the accelerator until the gearbox changes down. You can then find yourself in first gear at 6000 revs (you only get 7000 to play with on the 80bhp car) halfway round a roundabout.

I'm told there's a technique for dropping a gear or two quickly, but I can’t find it...
