I have now driven the T2 D4-D model as a company car for two months now and found it an extremely good vehicle.
The styling of the vehicle is excellent, and is what attracted me initially. Both inside and outside the vehicle looks very modern, with some nice features.
The driving position is excellent, with the location of the gear lever and controls all in a natural and ideal position. Considering that myself (6ft tall) and my partner (5ft tall) drive it, neither of us has a problem.
Versatility of the vehicle is excellent, with all the seats being able to fold and slide independently.
However, the tonneau cover in the boot is slightly too low, and sometimes has to be removed to accept some items that would otherwise fit in an ordinary hatchback.
The door mirrors could have more depth to them, as it is sometimes difficult when reversing to see both floor level and also door level.
Storage options, whilst not bad, could be improved. For example, under seat/over head storage could be better
I have found the middle rear seat belt difficult to fit sometimes, particularly when a child seat is also on the back seat. I have also had problems releasing this seatbelt.
Overall, I have seen, and tried, a lot of vehicles. As an all-rounder, I have found the vehicle to be excellent, and would buy one of my own if I did not have this as a company car.
I have owned the Verso with the MMT transmission and have many problems with it.
I can honestly say that, after having driven more than six models in the Toyota range, this one takes the biscuit when it comes to sluggishness and unreliability.
My car's transmission is faulty and, although the vehicle has broken down more than five times and had a new ECU fitted, it still breaks down. The car will, at random, lock itself into neutral making it undrivable.
Compounding my disappointment is the poor customer service that I have received to date. I have made it clear that the car is unfit to drive but Toyota have not paid the recovery costs of the car.
To say I am upset after having been a very good customer of Toyota would be an understatement.
As a regular VW/Audi driver, this car (my first Toyota) inpressed me with the overall build quality and design.
Excellent interior space and versatility, combined with a quiet and smooth ride provides a excellent daily commuter. The only quality glitch I found was the lid of the top dashboard cuuby hole.
Although the car is no racing car, the performance is acceptable for its application. Needed performance is obtained by using highish engine revolutions. Standard equipment impressed.
I love this car. As I have MS, I find it very easy to get in and out of, and it also has a good driving position.
