I owned this car virtually new (delivery miles) from 2003 and have found it absolutely outstanding. Acceleration is rapid, easily reaching 100+ before you know it. Sports suspension means a hard ride but you really feel the road. Needs an assertive driver to handle it, steering very sharp.
Have had no hassle with car, only time spent at dealers has been for services etc. If you want decent tyres for this it costs a bit, as does fuel consumption and tax.
Overall I love this car.
I have owned this car for almost 2 years now.
When I purchased this car it had 30,000 on the clock and it now has almost 90,000.
In this time the only costs I've encountered (other than general servicing) was £80 for a Vauxhall dealer to replace one of the rear shock absorbers. MPG is excellent, very cheap to run.
Overall I’ve been very pleased with this cheap & reliable car.
what a fantastic car i have just purchased this car and is great to drive lots of power but yet getting 100 miles from 10 pound if driven carefully even 60 miles to 10 pound if given some stick which is great also anyone thinking of buying the 1.8 sxi should get this one as insurance is cheaper much to my suprise. i wish this car would last forever
I've only had this car for 4 months and I'm pretty happy with it. I brought it with 58000 on the clock and now there's 65000 on the clock as I do drive long distances from time to time. Although there has been a few problems with the car I'm fairly satisfied with it (after owning a Fiat Punto which broke down once a month) I've had a bulb for the mileage display, a new gasket (found while getting it serviced) and the car broke down with a "technical sensor fault" which i had to get replaced though it didn't cost alot. Vauxhall dealership very helpful with very good customer service. Also sometimes the drivers seat seems to get very uncomfortable after driving for a couple of hours.
Other than that I'm fairly pleased with the car and would happily buy another one (A more sporty one though) Its easy to drive round town, quiet and keeps up with motorway traffic. It's very good one fuel too when driving to the legal limit.
I would recommend getting an Astra though something a bit more sportier and exciting. Will also stick with Vauxhall cause of their good customer service.
