Ford

Established in 1903, Ford soon found huge success as the first mass-producer of cars. The American brand still rides this wave of success, making several key models that frequently top the sales charts in the UK.

The company's biggest two sellers are the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus, which are in their sixth and third generations respectively. Both offer some of the best driving dynamics in their class, with chassis that seem well judged for UK roads.

The other big models in Ford's range are the Mondeo family car, S-Max MPV and Kuga SUV. The company's line-up is not without weak spots - the Ford Ka city car and Ford Ecosport small SUV are well behind their class leaders - but in general the Ford range has a decent reputation for offering good-value family transport.
