Sold the wrong car

Name Dr Jerzy Radomski
Car Land Rover Freelander
Problem Sold the wrong car
If you place an order for a specific model, thats what you expect to be sold. Dr Jerzy Radomskis Land Rover Freelander buying experience was not so straightforward.

Jerzy bought his Freelander from Harwoods Land Rover, Tonbridge. He confirmed by e-mail that the car was the post-face-lift model (the Freelander was updated earlier this year) with the 148bhp engine. Both the order form and invoice described the car as a 2011 Land Rover Freelander 2.2 TD4 HSE 148bhp automatic.

However, when he checked the V5C registration document he discovered the car was a pre-face-lift 158bhp car.

Jerzy wrote to the dealership, asking for an extra years warranty, asset protection and tyre insurance, worth a total of 1397, as compensation.

The general sales manager, Barnaby Walker, told us: It was never our intention to mislead Dr Radomski and was a genuine error on our part. We will happily offer one years extra warranty, asset protection and tyre insurance.

If this happens to you
1 Check a car is exactly what you ordered when you collect it.
2 Look over the paperwork to be sure the V5C and order form tally.
3 Consider whether to return the car for a full refund or accept a compromise solution.
