Used cars of the week: sub-10k award-winners

What Car?'s Car of the Year awards honoured 42 cars this year. A number of those have been on sale for over a year and are now available to buy on the used market.

This week we're focusing on hatchbacks, ranging in size from city cars up to family cars. Here are the best examples that we've found in our classifieds that are on sale for less than £10,000:

Ford Fiesta

The face-lifted Ford Fiesta has been on sale since 2012 and is also our 2014 Best small car. It rides well, is great fun to drive and is consistently one of the best-selling cars in the UK. We found this 1.25 Studio 3dr from 2013 that has just 3000 miles on the clock for sale at £8222.

Kia Ceed

The Kia Ceed is a great-value family car whether you're looking to buy new or used. In the Family car category, the Kia Ceed is our best buy for less than £15,000. The current model has been on sale since 2012. We found this 1.4 1 5dr from 2012 with 15,400 miles on the clock on sale at just £9490.

Skoda Citigo

The Skoda Citigo is our best buy if you're looking for a city car that costs less than £9000. Used versions are starting to appear on the market. We found this 2012 1.0 S 5dr that's covered 8302 miles priced at £6995. For that you get a stylish city car that's good to drive and more practical than some cars in the class thanks to the rear doors.

Volkswagen Up

As a new buy the Volkswagen Up is more expensive than its rivals, but it's still a great city car. It was Car of the Year 2012 and is our best buy in the city car category if you're looking to spend more than £11,000. As a used buy it's great value. This 2012 1.0 Take Up 3dr has done 17,700 miles and can be yours for £6791.
