When it comes to helping your business make the switch to an all-electric van, we know it’s a move that makes sense.

Not only can all-electric vans now go toe-to-toe with their conventionally powered stablemates in most areas around payload, capacity and capability, but they can even surpass them in a wealth of business-critical areas – particularly when it comes to cutting running costs.

As a result, all-electric vans can help your business work harder and smarter than ever before. And that’s where Ford Pro™ comes in.

One of the world’s biggest, most trusted and best-selling commercial vehicle brands, Ford has built on its more than 50 years of experience to create an expanded range of versatile, hard-working and intelligently connected all-electric vehicles that are helping businesses of all shapes and sizes seamlessly make the electric switch with ease.

Comprising three ultra-versatile panel vans – the vast Ford E-Transit, the one-tonne Ford E-Transit Custom and the compact Ford E-Transit Courier – and two luxurious people carriers – the nine-seat Ford E-Tourneo Custom and five-seat Ford E-Tourneo Courier – and with more to come in the near future. Every all-electric Ford vehicle offers lower running costs due to reduced service, repair and maintenance expense, rapid charging capabilities that let you effortlessly fit charging around your work day, and the very latest driver assistance and infotainment technology that help keep you and your employees connected throughout the working day.

Ford’s entire lineup also comes with full Ford ProTM integration. Ford ProTM is a comprehensive, one-stop support package for your business, bringing together commercial vehicles, charging infrastructure, smart software and vehicle maintenance. Ford ProTM is built around connected vehicle data and is designed to help businesses of any size monitor the health of their fleet, reduce running costs, and minimise downtime by highlighting issues before they become a problem, with key insights accessible via the FordPass Pro app[1] or one of the Ford ProTM Telematics solutions[2].

Additionally, the extensive Ford BlueOval™ Charge Network currently provides access to over 30,000 charge points across the UK and continues to expand.

So, let’s find out which all-electric Ford vehicle is right for your business.

Ford E-Transit

The vast Ford E-Transit is the largest van in Ford’s all-electric lineup and a true class-leader in several key areas. In fact, it’s so good we crowned it champion at the 2023 What Car? Vans Award, with our editor Steve Huntingford saying: “The Ford E-Transit represents a watershed moment for electric vans. From now on, rather than seeing if one will fit into their operations, fleet managers will need a good reason not to go electric.” High praise indeed.

Available with short, medium and long wheelbases, low and high roof heights and a choice of specialist chassis and double-cab-in-van (DCiV) body styles, the Ford E-Transit offers 25 different configurations, meaning there’s definitely one to suit your business. Like all of Ford’s all-electric models, the Ford E-Transit benefits from bespoke all-electric architecture that allows it to truly maximise interior space.

Maximum payload sits at up to 1758kg[3], maximum load volume is 15.1m3 and gross weights range from 3.5 to 4.25 tonnes – meaning plenty of space and heft for even the biggest jobs.

You get a 68kWh battery as standard with the choice of electric motors offering 135kW or 198kW, with the latter being the most powerful all-electric van on the market. Torque sits at 430Nm – offering plenty of low-down grunt for even the heaviest loads – while an all-electric range of up to 196 miles (WLTP Test Results)[4] means you won’t have to worry about running out of charge.

The Ford E-Transit supports 115kW DC fast charging that will top-up the battery from 15% to 80% charge in as little as 34 minutes – perfect for grabbing your lunch – while an overnight charge via a 7kW AC charger takes just over eight hours[5]. The FordPass Pro smartphone app[1] unlocks even more features and allows you to schedule charging, find your nearest public charging stations and access all of the world-class services that Ford ProTM has to offer.

In terms of technology, the Ford E-Transit comes with a crisp 12in infotainment screen as standard that is your portal to Ford’s latest generation SYNC 4 infotainment system. SYNC 4 gives you access to all your favourite apps, music and podcasts via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while also providing real-time traffic data and always-on internet connectivity so you can stay online throughout your working day.

You get the choice of two trims levels: Leader and Trend. Leader trim comes well-equipped with electronic air temperature control, keyless start, heated seats, and a Quickclear windscreen for those frosty mornings. Trend trim adds a wealth of great driver assistance features like cruise control, pre-collision assist with pedestrian protection, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist and front and rear parking sensors.
