The Audi A6 Avant is a comfortable, quiet and technologically advanced estate that's beautifully built. A BMW 5 Series Touring is better to drive and has a more user-friendly infotainment system, though.
The trimSee full equipment
Entry-level Sport trim gives you all the features you really need, with electric front seats, four-way lumbar adjustment, LED headlights, 18in alloy wheels, leather seat trim, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, ambient LED interior lighting, a powered tailgate and keyless start. The standard infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, sat-nav, Bluetooth, a DAB radio, an 10.1in touchscreen and a punchy 10-speaker stereo.
The engineSee full engine specs
This plug-in hybrid version of the A6 makes a lot of sense as a company car, thanks to its tiny official CO2 emissions. What's more, it can travel for up to 34 miles on fully electric power, and when the petrol engine is needed, it springs into life quite quickly and very smoothly to give 0-62mph in 6.2sec. The brakes are more precise than those of many plug-in hybrids, too, but you will need to plug the car in frequently to get anywhere near its official fuel economy.
