Review

The Audi Q3 is practical, has plenty of tech and is decent to drive. However, the Range Rover Evoque and Volvo XC40 are both classier inside, more comfortable and, ultimately, are better all-rounders.

If money is no object, range-topping Vorsprung trim gives you a Q3 with virtually every option box ticked. You get massive 20in wheels, a panoramic roof and that Bang & Olufsen Premium 3D sound system we mentioned earlier, but if you've got that much cash to splash then you'd be better off looking at the larger Q5.

This 148bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine offers similar outright performance to the cheaper 35 TFSI petrol but with more low-rev oomph. If you do lots of miles of plan to tow, it's worth a look.
