Review

The Audi Q3 is practical, has plenty of tech and is decent to drive. However, the Range Rover Evoque and Volvo XC40 are both classier inside, more comfortable and, ultimately, are better all-rounders.

Trim: Edition 1

Even sportier styling than you get with S line trim, thanks to enormous 20in alloys, a black grille and a grey bodykit. It's well equipped, too, but very expensive.

Engine: 40 TDI Quattro

This 187bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine, available exclusively with four-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox, is effortlessly brisk and can do 0-62mph in 8.0sec. Shame it's also rather pricey.
