Review

The Audi Q3 is quite tidy to drive, has up-to-date tech and versatile rear seats, but it doesn’t really offer a great deal over a number of regular, non-premium family SUVs. Unless you’re really sold on the styling of the S Line version, we’d stick with Sport trim, while the TFSI 150 is the engine that makes the most sense. The SUV version is easier to recommend than the more expensive and less practical Q3 Sportback.

Sport trim is certainly worth a look. It shares the generous standard equipment list of the entry-level Technik trim but has larger 18in alloy wheels and some styling tweaks.

This is all the engine most Q3 buyers will want or need. It has enough oomph at low revs to avoid you needing to work it hard, but when you are in a hurry can haul the Q3 from 0-62mph in 9.6sec (9.4sec if you've gone for the optional S tronic automatic gearbox).
